Music, Movies and Portables Are Alive
and Well
by: Ted Denton
There was whispering awhile back that iPod and
MP3s were going to die off due to new technology forecasts. But
Apple sure put a fast stop to these rumors by releasing news of its
plan, in conjunction with automakers, to include factory-connections
for iPods, and more importantly, its new iPod version.
Apple unveiled the new iPod on September 12,
and it is a winner! The new iPod is a 5th generation toy with
capacity sizes of 30GB and a giant 80GB. The 30 GB gives the
listener 14 hours of music play, while the 80GB gives up to 20
hours. Both sizes give you a 2.5 inch color display with a 60%
brighter display according to Apple.
The newest player has received excellent
reviews far and wide, with PC Magazine giving it their prestigious
Editor’s Choice Award.
With everything these little toys are capable
of, users will continue to listen to songs, watch movies and videos,
play games, listen to audio books, view photos and watch TV shows
for a very long time to come.
The technology is amazing and Apple continues
to lead the way in portable entertainment. With the news of a
breakthrough in laser-transmitted signals, the amount of information
that will be able to be transmitted from processors even faster and
more effectively has all techies waiting for the newest breakout in
technology to be available for the general public. But alas, the
news of this laser breakthrough also states it will be a couple more
years before the tech community will be able to harness this power
for you and I.
That’s okay though…with the amazing
breakthroughs over just the last couple of years, time is going very
quickly when it comes to upgrading technologies we already have and
enjoying the ultra-fast journey. The journey seems to begin anew
every 3 – 6 months, doesn’t it?
Available downloads for all kinds of portable
players are all over the web. Some sites are quite distrustful, and
others are easy to acknowledge as safe. As with all things in
life…common sense rules!
So, let’s enjoy what we have, and look towards the future with anticipation. We will get our collective socks knocked off again and again if the past is any indication.
